Tournament Information
Bridge NSW runs events at the Sydney Bridge Centre and online on the RealBridge platform and in its affiliated bridge clubs around the state (See below for details.)
Congresses run by Bridge NSW and its affiliated clubs are held throughout the year. The dates of these events are available on the Congress Calendar.
STATE EVENTS
In 2024 State Championship events are being run by Bridge NSW, Central Coast Leagues Club BC and Illawarra Bridge Association. Players from all clubs may play in any of the State events.
All clubs are invited to participate in the State Mixed Pairs, State Open Pairs and State Open Teams Championships and also the State Wide Pairs and State Under 100MP Pairs Championship conducted by Bridge NSW each year.
EVENTS RUN BY BRIDGE NSW
INTERSTATE TEAMS SELECTION (ITS) - 2024
The NSWBA will send 4 teams to the Australian National Championships in Orange, 6-11 July to compete in the Open, Women's, Seniors' and Youth Interstate Teams.
The Interstate Teams Selection events run in four separate divisions - Open, Women's, Seniors' and Youth. Seniors must be born before 1/1/1961 and Youth must be born on or after 1/1/1999.
Sessions are to be played at either the NSWBA or online on the RealBridge platform. See the Supplementary Regulations for further details.
Open I.T.S.
Qualifying: Mondays 29 January, 5, 12 & 26 February, online on the RealBridge platform
Final: Saturday 9 March & Sunday 10 March
Women's I.T.S.
The Women's I.T.S. will be held over a single weekend:
Friday 5 April, Saturday 6 April & Sunday 7 April
If more than 18 pairs enter the event will be played in 2 stages:
Qualifying: Friday 5 April
Final: Saturday 6 April & Sunday 7 April
Seniors' I.T.S.
The Seniors’ I.T.S. will be held over a single weekend:
Friday 19 April, Saturday 20 April & Sunday 21 April
If more than 18 pairs enter the event will be played in 2 stages:
Qualifying: Friday 19 April
Final: Saturday 20 April & Sunday 21 April
Youth I.T.S.
Sunday 14 April

GRAND NATIONAL OPEN TEAMS
The Grand National Open Teams is an Australia-wide event conducted by the Australian Bridge Federation Ltd (ABF). It is the only opportunity for players to earn Gold Masterpoints in their local club. The National Qualifying Final will be held online on 20-22 September. 4 teams and 8 country teams will qualfiy to the National and Country Finals respectively on November 23-24 in Sydney. The NSWBA is the organising body for all regions in NSW and will send 22 teams to the finals, 7 of the teams coming from the Sydney Metropolitan region and the remaining teams from elsewhere in NSW.
