Teaching in Schools

Bridge players who wish to approach local schools to teach bridge to their students may find the following files useful. The first is a letter from the NSWBA commending bridge as an extracurricular activity suitable for the school's students. The second is a letter that can be downloaded and modified as required to fit your local circumstances.

Many Australian authors (Paul Marston, Derrick Browne, Joan Butts, inter alia) have written suitable beginner texts that can be followed.

In addition, a suitable course is available through the European Bridge Union.

Free teach yourself software can be downloaded from the American Contract Bridge League website.

At the moment in NSW, people who wish to work with children on a voluntary basis need do no more than supply a "Working with Children Check" available on the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian Website.
