The Seniors' and Youth Teams will also be selected this month. The Seniors' ITS Qualifying and the Finals will be held over two weekends — a one-day qualifying will be held on Sunday 22nd April and the Finals over the weekend 28th – 29th April, while the Youth ITS will be held on the same Sunday 29th April. Enter now and earn the honour to represent NSW.

For novice and restricted players, don't miss the State Novice and Restricted Pairs Championship hosted by Southern Highlands Bridge Club on 28th – 29th April. Mittagong should look spectacular with the Autumn leaves! We hope you will collect a lot of red masterpoints from this State event while enjoying your weekend escape. The winning Restricted pairs will also receive a subsidy from the ABF in the form of an allowance and entry to the ANC Restricted Butler Pairs in Hobart on 4th – 5th August 2018.

A lot of clubs have been running their Club Qualifying events for the State Mixed Pairs Championships over the last few months. If you missed out on the chance to get qualified via club heats, you may want to consider the NSWBA State Mixed Pairs Qualifying over 3 Monday nights on 30th April, 7th and 14th May. Players can choose to play 2 or 3 sessions, the best two sessional results will be calculated. Or you can enter directly to the Finals which will be held over the weekend of 26th – 27th May.

The World Bridge Federation has announced that a Mixed Teams Event will be added to the Open, Women's and Seniors' divisions at the World Teams Championships in odd numbered years. The ABF is currently running a survey asking players for their opinions on how best to select the Australian Mixed Team. If you want to have your say, complete the survey HERE.

Congress Psyche Register
The NSWBA has decided to establish a central psyche register for all congresses held in NSW.

The laws permit players to deviate from their systemic agreements so long as the partner of the player who does so has no greater reason to be aware of this deviation than the opponents. Once your partnership has a history of deviating from its agreements in a certain situation you are required to inform your opponents of this tendency.

If you feel that your opponents have psyched against you, please email details of the hand to the psyche register – no action will be taken against players who are reported to the psyche register but once a pair has multiple entries in the psyche register, congress directors will be informed so that they are aware of this history when making their rulings.

A form which can be used for submissions is available HERE.
