ABF Visit NSWBA

The beautiful town of Orange will extend its reputation for the finer things in life, after being named as host for the 2021 Australian National Bridge Championships (ANC).

Bridge is played in over 100 countries worldwide, with some of the very best talent right here in Australia with over 35,000 registered players. The championships will include State representatives in Open, Youth, Women’s and Seniors categories, with players from each of these events going on to represent Australia on the world stage.

Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) President Allison Stralow shared her excitement in securing Orange as the stage for the 2021 championships.

“We are delighted our NSW Association hosts have recommended Orange as the venue for this important event on our Calendar. Orange has an Australia wide reputation for fine food, wine and hospitality all of which are an important element of a successful championships.”

John Scudder Chairman of the NSW Bridge Association thanked Destination NSW and Orange City Council for their support.

“We are excited about recommending Orange which has an active and vibrant Bridge Community and the excellent facilities at the Ex Services Club where the event will be conducted are perfect for this event. Our special thanks to Destination NSW and the Orange City Council for their encouragement and support in choosing Orange.”

Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres, welcomed the announcement, noting the work of the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW in securing the event.

“We’re delighted to be hosting the 2021 Championships, particularly in regional NSW. We’re determined to continue to build a top class, major events calendar for NSW and promote our amazing State right across the world.”

The Championships will be conducted at the Orange Ex Services Club from 10 to 22 July 2021.
