Happy Birthday Lillian!

Lillian Hughes a member of the North Shore Bridge Club turns 100 on 4th March 2013.

Lillian and her husband, Allan, started playing Solo. They invited about 4 tables of friends on a Saturday night to play Solo when they lived at Strathfield. Then they moved to St Ives and Lillian took up bridge seriously, after her husband died, about 33 years ago.

She played every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at Lindfield Bridge Club for about 20yrs.

She has been playing at Willoughby Bridge Club every Monday and Wednesday for about the last 12 years.

Lillian drove herself to bridge until she was about 90 yrs old, then very kind bridge ladies drove her.

As well as keeping Lillian mentally alert, bridge has given her great companionship and stimulation, helping her reach 100yrs.
