TEACHING COURSES AND WORKSHOPS
ttw_kiama2013

The ABF with assistance from the State body sponsors Teacher Training Programmes (TTP’s). These programmes aim to both prepare prospective teachers for their first class and to improve the effectiveness of experienced teachers.

The ABF National Teaching Coordinator, Joan Butts, conducts four of these programmes (TTP’s) in different Australian states each year. They are based on Audrey Grant’s Better Bridge Teacher Accreditation Programmes, (USA), and offer proven advice that, if followed, will give teachers the tools to deliver top-quality bridge lessons.

Joan also conducts Professional Development Days  which concentrate on “What to” (teach); TTP’s concentrate on “How to” (teach).

A Teacher Training Programme Workshop was held at the Kiama and District Bridge Club on 10-11 August, 2013

The first Professional Development Day for Teachers was held at the Peninsula Bridge Club on Sunday 21 September, 2014.
